Please note: We are recruiting one permanent full-time position and one 12‑month fixed-term contract.
The Role
The communications officer role will provide essential support in the development and delivery of a successful and long-term strategic programme of communications to ensure we offer the best in the business communications service for our people, our customers and stakeholders.
Role responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day communications support to the communications business partners by effectively offering the right level of communications support to ensure the right advice is given to support the delivery of key projects and programmes across designated directorates.
- Deliver day-to-day project delivery by writing content such as drafting PRs, vlogs, social media posts, web content and colleague communication. Liaising with project managers to ensure that relevant communications tasks are actioned to support the delivery of key projects and programmes across the designated directorates.
- Be a key ambassador for our communications approach, by making sure activity is aligned to our vision and values to ensure we achieve a consistent standard, approach and messaging in our communications across the organisation and our communication channels.
- Support the development of our workforce culture and relevant change programmes by working closely with the senior communications officer to ensure that delegated actions are delivered to support our overall colleague engagement programme.
- Support the delivery of our day-to-day internal communications provision by working closely with the various directories to gather information and share insight and plan activity across the different disciplines.
Who we're looking for
- Experience of working in a communications environment, such as communications officer, marketing assistant etc.
- Experience of working on communications campaigns.
- Experience of project management or project support
- Experience of managing successful relationships with stakeholders.
- Experience of a wide range of written content –e.g. for colleagues, media, web and social posts.
Welsh Language Skills
While not essential for this role, Welsh language skills would make a great addition to your application.
