The Role
Responsible for all aspects of manual and automation testing of the Uno project, testing will include Web & App, Dynamics and API testing. The test analyst will contribute to test plans created and agreed by the Test Lead, they will have experience of both Waterfall and Agile methodologies, and will create and execute test cases using DevOps and selected Automation tools.
Role responsibilities
- Support the Test Lead to write and agree test plans and methodologies as required during the project life cycle, including writing draft test cases using pre-defined testing methodologies, ensuring that there is traceability between the testing implementation and the requirements / acceptance criteria.
- Assess whether testing can be automated by identifying repetitive and labour-intensive tests to identify which options would be more cost effective to run via an automated script.
- Report test progress, risks and issues in a timely manner to the test manager and the project team through using methods agreed in the test planning to ensure transparency and flag blockers with the project.
- Write and execute manual, automated or non functional test cases using DevOps to ensure auditability and traceability.
- Identify defects/bugs during concept, business case and procurement phases by reviewing requirements and project documentation, providing feedback to Business Analysts to save on costly fixes later in the project lifecycle.
- Find, validate, and report defects in accordance with the defect life cycle documented in the Test Strategy and Plan (using test management tools such as; DevOps) to ensure that rework (and re-testing) can be done quickly and efficiently to minimise overall delivery delay.
Who we're looking for
- Experience in IT/Digital/Systems test planning and delivery, including functional and end user testing.
- Experience of software development life cycles such as; Waterfall, Agile.
- Experience with testing tools such as DevOps.
- A high standard of written and verbal communication, and the ability to collaborate and build effective working relations with people at all levels across the organisation and outside.
- Excellent planning and organisation skills, (e.g project planning and/or dealing with delays or blockers).
Welsh Language Skills
While not essential for this role, Welsh language skills would make a great addition to your application.
