The Role

As a Station Environmental Supervisor, you will lead by example, inspiring your team to deliver excellence in station environmental standards, safety and continuous improvements, whilst providing a safe and secure environment.

 

Role responsibilities

  • Provide supervisory support to staff at the assigned location, ensuring consistently high‑quality service delivery in alignment with the station management team's objectives.
  • Provide cleaning cover to release staff for training, carrying out all tasks in accordance with company safety, service, and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and deliver targeted training modules for station staff, in partnership with the company training team and based on the station's training needs analysis. Topics include COSHH awareness, equipment operation, cleaning standards, and safe working practices.
  • Provide on‑the‑job coaching and assessment to support the station's improvement programme.
  • Assist the Customer Operations Manager in creating individual and team training plans aligned with the station's training needs analysis.
  • Contribute to the development of environmental and cleanliness improvement plans.
  • Support the Customer Operations Manager and wider team with improvement initiatives related to cleaning standards, waste management, environmental compliance, equipment upgrades, DSE/site/risk assessments, roster reviews, accessibility support for disabled customers, accident‑reduction efforts, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Support enhanced cleaning operations and ensure operational readiness for special events.

 

Who we're looking for

Essential

  • Good people management skills
  • Be an effective trainer, coach and advisor, with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to analyse the data relating to cleaning performance, waste volumes, equipment usage and safety reporting
  • Be a confident IT user, able to use Microsoft office applications and other relevant reporting systems
  • Good knowledge of railway operations and services, safety procedures, and environmental standards
  • Understanding of COSHH regulations, safe manual handling and cleaning equipment operation

 

Desirable

  • Welsh language skills
