The Role

To play a key role in delivering the internal software developments that supports TfW's cross-platform digital customer solutions, and enterprise applications, and ongoing evolution towards a world class multi-modal transport provider. Our software developers use both traditional and low-code approaches, connected through modern integration standards, and deployed across public cloud services to ensure that we optimise our software products and deliver scalable and resilient product features and capabilities.

 

Role responsibilities

  • Work within the Software Development team to develop TfW's new and existing software platforms, leading the development of clean, secure, and maintainable code through code reviews and adherence to test automation to create high value features and reusable application design patterns across enterprise applications and customer digital estate (web, mobile, and physical information systems at bus/rail stations and onboard transportation vehicles).
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks, through ensuring Secure-by-Design principles and iterating on application design to optimise performance and ensure the stability and security of software solutions.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and solution architects via meetings and workshops to understand business plans and strategies to ensure the digital solutions landscape enables improvements in TfW business performance and delivers both internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Utilise existing Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) processes so that projects and briefs can be delivered without disruption to production environments and maintain an uninterrupted customer experience.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation using the appropriate business tooling to ensure all software created is supportable, and able to be further developed upon.
  • Provide support by acting an escalation point for our delivery teams in solving complex problems affecting production services.

 

Who we're looking for

  • Technical Expertise: Proven experience in developing and maintaining complex software systems, with a good understanding of modern development practices and technologies, including experience in one or more of:
    • Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse)
    • Dynamics 365 CRM
    • Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations
    • Azure Logic Apps, Function Apps (C# .NET) and Web Apps (C# .NET)
    • Website and App development (PHP, Vue.js, PWA wrappers)
  • Agile Methodologies: Experience in working to Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban, to ensure efficient and effective project delivery.
  • Stakeholder Management: Able to engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide technical insights, and ensure alignment with business goals.

 

Welsh Language Skills

While not essential for this role, Welsh language skills would make a great addition to your application.
