The Role

The Retail Projects Manager is responsible for leading and delivering all retail and ticketing transformation projects across TfW, delivered by the retail team or other departments. The role has a particular focus on the successful deployment and integration of Pay As You Go (PAYG) technology across Metro areas, alongside the implementation of new retail ticketing systems. 

Role responsibilities

  • Lead commercially focused transport related projects by applying robust project lifecycle methodologies (such as APM or PRINCE 2), developing detailed project plans and managing resources effectively to ensure key 
    milestones are achieved and projects are delivered to time, within budget and to the required quality.
  • Lead project teams by collaborating with colleagues, suppliers and contractors to ensure successful delivery of projects.
  • Provide effective project governance through clear reporting and by leading technical working groups, following required processes and timelines to ensure projects are well managed and communicated effectively.
  • Be the point of contact for all transformation projects that impact the retail team or the customers retail journey.
  • Implement processes for tracking financial and delivery milestones of retail team managed projects.
  • Be the retail representative on the project teams for Pay As You Go (PAYG), Retail Ticketing Solution (RTS), Ticketing Vending Machine (TVM), Gatelines and lead the retail proposition workstreams.
  • Work with the Retail Systems Manager to ensure that systems or channels that interact with ABT/PAYG operate reliably and represent TfW at industry ABT/PAYG forums.
  • Work with the front-line management and supervisory teams to aid understanding and operation of PAYG ticketing.
  • Work closely with the Retail Systems Manager and Digital Retail Manager on managing the impact of new retail channels on legacy systems and processes.
  • Work with the Retail Systems Manager, TfW Digital and Procurement teams on managing upgrades or changes in functionality of legacy ticket issuing systems, including changes to maintenance contracts.

Who we're looking for

  • Project Management experience.
  • Experience of working, engaging and influencing internal colleagues and external stakeholders to deliver change projects
  • Organisational, planning and prioritisation skills including financial
  • Effective communicator with good verbal and written skills
  • Demonstrable experience of managing a budget, including forecasting and monitoring spend. 

Welsh Language Skills
