The Role

Working as part of the IT team, the Data Protection assistant is responsible for the day-to-day administration of all UK GDPR related issues for Transport for Wales' (TfW), providing assistance with all Data subject access requests (DSAR's) or Requests from Information Commissioner's office (ICO) to enable the company to carry out its core business.

Role responsibilities

• Monitor the email inbox and ticketing system for all incoming privacy queries and requests and be the first point of contact making sure all contacts are responded to efficiently.
• Perform the general administration of data processing requests received, updating TfW's internal systems to reflect any necessary data processing changes keeping TFW's system data secure.
• Prepare responses to data subject access requests (DSARs) received, to include conducting a review of internal systems to identify all personal data and compiling a complete response comprising of all relevant documentation.
• Working with the information team, to monitor data leak prevention software dashboard and investigate alerts, identify any possible data breaches and report to the Head of Data Protection and IT Assurance (DPO)
• Maintain records and assist with data processing audits, as may be required by the DPO.

Who we're looking for

• Previous experience of dealing with Data subject access requests (DSAR).
• Experience with Microsoft office 365 applications.
• The ability to demonstrate a good working knowledge and understanding of UK GDPR.
• GDPR Qualification or Certificate (Desirable)

Welsh Language Skills

While not essential for this role, Welsh language skills would make a great addition to your application.
