We’ve outlined the main eligibility criteria below.

  • Our apprenticeships are open to anyone over the age of 16 and there’s no upper age limit. Please note that for safety-critical roles, the minimum age will be higher.
  • You can’t already be in full time or part time education at the point of the apprenticeship start date.
  • You must not have already achieved a similar or higher-level qualification in the apprenticeship role you’ve applied for. For example, if you have a degree in Engineering, you won’t be eligible to apply for an Engineering apprenticeship. However, you could apply for another apprenticeship in a different profession, such as Finance.

It depends on the role, but many of our apprenticeships don’t need specific qualifications to get started. Some may ask for grades A*-C in GCSE’s or equivalent in Mathematics and English Language as a minimum and other apprenticeships will require additional qualifications, depending on the specialism.

The entry requirements are listed in the job adverts, so please check the details. If you’re unsure, please contact earlytalent@tfw.wales

Applications usually open in February, with the recruitment process concluding in the springtime. Our Apprenticeship Academy cohorts start every September.

You’ll have a dedicated line manager, responsible for your day-to-day management and support with your development. You’ll also have a mentor, a buddy and ongoing support from the early talent team and your apprenticeship training partner.

An apprenticeship is just the beginning of your journey. Many of our apprentices go on to secure permanent jobs with us and continue to grow their careers. You may be able to progress to a higher-level apprenticeship or gain more qualifications. It all depends on your goals.

We’ll support you throughout your apprenticeship to help you plan your next steps and you’ll have access to development opportunities long after your apprenticeship ends. We believe in growing talent from within, so your apprenticeship could be just the start of a long and successful career with us.
