About us

We were set up by the Welsh Government to change the way Wales travels. We're making sustainable transport the natural choice, helping to combat the climate emergency. It's a big job. We want to inspire people to change their behaviour, doing their bit for all our futures by travelling in ways that are kinder to our planet.

To do this, we’re building a multimodal, integrated transport network that includes trains, buses, walking and cycling.

Our commitment to the Welsh language

At TfW, we’re intrinsically Welsh – and proudly so.

We’re upgrading our network to ensure our customers see and hear Cymraeg and English everywhere. We want it to be a central part of people’s experience when they travel with us, whether that’s for daily commutes, trips to the beach or to see Wales play rugby (or football).

We warmly welcome Welsh speakers and champion the use of Welsh in our workplace. Some of our roles require Welsh language skills. If you want to learn Welsh or improve your skills, we’ll support you.

Working with trades unions

Trade unions protect our colleagues, make us stronger as an organisation and help us do a better job for our customers and communities.

We’ve chosen to recognise all the unions that represent our sector and intend to have a nominated trades union representative on our Board of Directors.

We work in partnership with the following unions:

We want to encourage greater participation in key roles by groups in society who are currently underrepresented.

If you meet the essential criteria for a role and you meet the eligibility requirements listed below, we’ll offer you a guaranteed interview.

We may not be able to offer guaranteed interviews for some safety critical roles, but we’ll make reasonable adjustments when we can.

You currently serve in the Armed Forces and are within 12 weeks of your discharge date. You’re also eligible if the Armed Forces were your last long-term employer and no more than three years have passed since you left.

You declare that you’re disabled as defined under the Equality Act 2010 on your application form.

You declare that you identify as female on your application form and are applying for a role considered to be in Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths.
